Biography I completed an integrated Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield graduating in 2019. I received a first class honours degree with my Masters thesis investigating the dry production of electrode materials for lithium ion batteries through high shear granulation of the active material. My supervisors for my MEng project were Dr Rachel Smith and Dr Denis Cumming.
Research My current research is under the supervision of Dr Rachel Smith and Dr Denis Cumming as part of the Nextrode Project funded by the Faraday Institution. The Faraday Institution is the UK’s independent institute for electrochemical energy storage science and technology, supporting research, training, and analysis. The focus of my research is on implementing particle processing techniques for the production of valuable secondary structures of active materials to be used in next generation battery electrodes. This will involve investigating wetting, nucleation and growth regimes of agglomerates and developing mechanistic understanding of stirred tank design and agglomerate formation. The Nextrode project collaborates with a multitude of universities and commercial partners.
