Biography I received my Ph.D. degree (2017) in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University, UK. I graduated with a M.Sc. (Eng) degree (2013) in process design from the University of Tehran, and a B.Sc. (Eng) degree (2010) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tabriz, Iran. From 2014 to 2017, I worked at Loughborough University, UK as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher and PhD candidate, under the supervision of Prof. Victor Starov on an EU funded Initial Training Network project titled “CoWet”. The aim of this project was to investigate the interaction of droplets or foams with porous substrates with a focus on droplets of non-Newtonian liquids and foams of Newtonian surfactants and non-Newtonian polymeric solutions. I also did a secondment in Procter & Gamble, in Cincinnati, US during 2015.
Research I am currently working in Particle Technology Group, led by Dr Rachel Smith and Prof Jim Litster, on modelling and simulation of particulate processes. The project is funded by the CMAC Future Manufacturing Research Hub and the main focus is mechanic modelling of spherical agglomeration for continuous manufacture of pharmaceuticals. My research interests lies at the intersection of:
Applied mathematics in particulate and multi-phase flow systems
Interface science and engineering/ wetting and spreading
